The Human Impact Institute advances the emerging field of Human Impact Science by integrating knowledge across disciplines, listening to humanity's most important questions, conducting and supporting rigorous research, preserving humanity's evolving understanding, and developing practical knowledge that strengthens human flourishing and responsible stewardship.

Modern society has produced extraordinary scientific knowledge.

Yet many of humanity's greatest challenges—including mental health, social isolation, technological transformation, institutional trust, environmental change, and human flourishing—cannot be understood through any single discipline alone.

The Human Impact Institute exists to bring these perspectives together.

Brenda N Medina — Founder & Architect, Human Impact Institute

Brenda is the founder and architect of the Human Impact Institute and the originating framework of Human Impact Science. Her work has focused on developing an interdisciplinary approach to understanding how human decisions, systems, technologies, institutions, and environments shape human flourishing across individuals, communities, and generations.

As architect of HII, she has guided the development of its foundational intellectual architecture, including the Human Impact Ontology, Human Questions Project, research framework, institutional model, and broader vision for a global interdisciplinary research and learning community.

Her role is to steward the Institute's founding vision while helping create the intellectual, organizational, and collaborative foundations through which Human Impact Science can evolve as an open, rigorous, and continually developing field of inquiry.
